On December 7, 2009, Washington Federal Savings Bank received official notification that its application to convert to a Pennsylvania state savings bank had been approved. Effective December 28, 2009, the Bank became Washington Financial Bank – a state chartered savings bank regulated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the FDIC.
